Wrapping up the Wins for 2024

Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) and its veteran service officers (VSOs) accomplished a lot in 2024 on behalf of those who served, and will continue to file and follow up on claims for veterans benefits in the new year. 

Recently, a Massachusetts VSO helped a veteran suffering from Type 2 diabetes access care and benefits. But the veteran complained of an unusual tingling in his feet and hands, which was a ultimately diagnosed as peripheral neuropathy.

The VSO then helped the veteran apply for — and win — additional benefits related to the condition, which is likely service-connected. The veteran also suffers from hypertension, and the office will help him file a presumptive claim for that condition based on the PACT Act.
