Veterans Benefits: Frequently Asked Questions (Part 2)
Am I eligible for VA education benefits?
Veterans Affairs (VA) education benefits can help you pay for tuition, housing and other educational expenses. If you’re an active-duty service member, a veteran, a member of the National Guard or Reserves, or a qualified survivor or dependent, you may be able to access VA education benefits through the GI Bill and other educational assistance programs.
VA’s education and training benefits programs include:
• Post-9/11 GI Bill
• Montgomery GI Bill-Active Duty (MGIB-AD)
• Montgomery GI Bill-Selected Reserve (MGIB-SR)
• National Call to Service (NCS)
• Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance (DEA)
• Reserve Educational Assistance Program (REAP)
Contact a Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) Veteran Service Officer to find out more about education benefits programs here, or search for a VSO from another organization through the VA’s website in states where VVA does not. Enter your ZIP code or city and state, and you’ll see which VSOs serve your area.
