Dr. Gerry Gingrich

Dr. Gerry Gingrich serves as the Faculty Director of McCourt’s Executive Master in Policy Leadership at Georgetown University. Previous to this position, Gerry was a full professor at the National Defense University for 25 years where she was a founding member of the College of Information and Cyberspace. In that role, she directed the Department of Defense’s flagship executive program in leadership and information technology. Gerry was awarded the Joint Meritorious Civilian Service Award by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff upon her retirement from Federal service.

Dr. Gingrich is an expert in strategic leadership and decision-making, organizational innovation, and technological and behavioral change. In 1990, Gerry co-founded and led the first executive program in the country in the leadership and management of information systems at The George Washington University.

Before entering academe, Gerry was a Corporate Lending Officer for Bank of America and a Certified Public Accountant for KPMG. She holds executive degrees in foreign policy from MIT and in information systems from the University of Minnesota; an MS and PhD in organizational and cognitive psychology from the University of Maryland; and a BS in business and finance from the University of North Carolina.

Gerry’s mother and father were interred at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors; they both served as US Army officers in WWII.
